Understanding “CASH NOW” Advertisements
We’ve all seen the advertisements in the back of magazines and local newspapers. We’ve all seen the pop-up ads on the Internet. We’ve all found the listings on craigslist.com: Cash now ads that promise huge financial rewards for a minimal amount of work.
Most of these ads exclaim, often in all-capital letters, that you can earn a small fortune from home by working just two to three hours a day. The ads never say what the actual work entails. Nor do they give the name of an actual company. They do, though, provide either an e-mail address, mailing address or phone number. Contact these “companies,” and you’ll find the unpleasant truth: Most “cash now” schemes are simply that, schemes. Although, not all of these schemes are bad ones. A person looking for quick cash simply needs to be cautious and read everything before signing.
Many of these offers involve you spending a small amount of money for a list of job opportunities that are either horribly out of date or available elsewhere at no charge. Others involve labor-intensive envelope-stuffing type jobs that require loads of time and provide scant financial rewards.
If a cash now ad simply sounds too good to be true, that’s because it probably is.
You can protect yourself from these scams by recognizing the signs of these “fake” jobs. First, anything that is advertised by signs glued or stapled into telephone poles is almost certainly a scam or a waste of your time. Don’t call the 800 numbers printed on those ads!
Secondly, any advertisement that doesn’t clearly spell out the job you’ll be performing is also usually a scam. There’s a reason the people behind these ads aren’t telling you what you’ll be doing; no one would call.
Thirdly, ads printed in all-capital letters with loads of exclamation points are a sure sign that something is wrong. Professional employers write professional ads. They don’t fill their ads with hyperbole and all-caps shouting. They let their position speak for itself.
In today’s difficult economy, these scam cash now schemes are becoming even more popular. Some of the offers may sound tempting, but it’s best to ignore them and search for real monetary offers.
It should probably be noted that there are legitimate ways to receive money quickly. However most of these ways consist of hard work and determination. Either that or getting some form of loan.
